- Business Law: Entity formation, contract review, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
The specific scope of representation for each client will be detailed in a separate engagement letter or retainer agreement. These Terms serve as a general framework governing all client relationships.
Client Responsibilities
As a client of Brenn Law, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and timely information relevant to your legal matter.
- Respond promptly to communications and requests for documentation or information.
- Attend scheduled meetings, court appearances, and proceedings as required.
- Pay fees and costs in accordance with the agreed-upon fee structure.
- Act in good faith and refrain from any conduct that could prejudice your case or the firm's ability to represent you effectively.
- Notify us immediately of any changes in your contact information or circumstances affecting your legal matter.
Attorney-Client Relationship
An attorney-client relationship with Brenn Law is formed only upon execution of a written engagement agreement. Until such agreement is signed, no attorney-client relationship exists, and any information you provide may not be protected by the attorney-client privilege.
Once established, the attorney-client relationship is governed by the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct. Our attorneys are committed to providing competent, diligent, and confidential representation in accordance with all applicable ethical standards.
Either party may terminate the relationship upon written notice, subject to the terms of the engagement agreement and applicable ethical rules regarding withdrawal from representation.
Fee Structure & Payment Terms
Our fee arrangements vary depending on the nature of the legal matter. We offer the following fee structures:
- Contingency Fees: For personal injury cases, our fees are calculated as a percentage of the recovery obtained. You pay nothing unless we win your case.
- Hourly Fees: Certain matters are billed at an hourly rate, with detailed invoices provided monthly.
- Flat Fees: For defined services such as contract review, will preparation, or uncontested divorces, we may offer a fixed fee arrangement.
All fee arrangements will be clearly documented in your engagement letter. Costs and expenses (such as court filing fees, expert witness fees, and investigation costs) are separate from legal fees and will be itemized on your billing statements.
Confidentiality & Privacy
Brenn Law maintains the highest standards of confidentiality regarding all client information. We will not disclose any information relating to your representation without your written consent, except as required by law or ethical rules.
Confidentiality extends to all communications, documents, and strategies developed during the course of representation. However, clients should be aware that:
- Communications through unencrypted email may not be secure, and we cannot guarantee confidentiality of electronically transmitted information.
- Information shared in initial consultations before a formal engagement agreement is signed may have limited privilege protections.
- We may be required by law to disclose information in certain circumstances, such as to prevent imminent harm or as required by court order.
